Website statistics
When website analytics is enabled, we count page views and document requests by UTC hour and page. These basic counters do not store IP addresses, IP hashes, visitor identifiers, browser or device details, or exact visit times. For daily page-and-country totals, we briefly use the connection IP address to estimate the country using a local database, then keep only the UTC day, public page, approximate country and request count. We also keep separate daily country totals for IP-free page and document requests so these can be included or excluded in our audience reports. These totals contain only day, activity type, approximate country and count, and are kept for up to 365 days. Basic statistics use no analytics cookies or browser storage and include requests with browser privacy signals. You can exclude this browser from website statistics. Counts measure requests, not unique people. Hourly counts are kept for up to 90 days and daily totals for up to 365 days.
Individual IP activity, browser and device statistics and session measurement require Measurement consent in Cookie preferences and respect Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. With Measurement consent, a first-party cookie groups page views into visits and expires after 30 minutes without a recorded page view. We use these visits to estimate time on page, bounce rate and exit rate. Consented page-session records and individual activity are kept for up to 90 days; daily audience totals for up to 365 days. Hosting security and access logs are managed separately.
