About the index
The IPOX® MENA Index (IPEV) follows eligible newly public companies from the Middle East and North Africa. Its universe includes IPOs, spin-offs and qualifying companies involved in acquisitions of recent IPOs, drawing on the IPOX® EMEA Composite Index framework.
Public-market development across MENA
The region's new listings include businesses from a range of industries, with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates forming important parts of the eligible universe. The index follows companies as they establish a trading record and develop as publicly held businesses.
Country and sector exposure reflect the companies selected at each review. The portfolio can therefore change as listing activity expands across markets, existing companies grow and corporate actions reshape the universe. Country and sector weights are reported in the dated fact sheet alongside portfolio statistics.
Selection and maintenance
Eligible companies are ranked by market capitalization and assessed against liquidity and exposure criteria. Market capitalization weighting links constituent influence to company size, subject to the methodology's applicable provisions.
The index is reconstituted and rebalanced quarterly, updating membership and portfolio weights as the regional new listings universe develops.
