About the index
The GINDEX® U.S. Growth Infusion Index (GNDX) follows companies that have acquired a 100% interest in businesses that became publicly traded through a U.S. IPO, direct listing or spin-off. This form of acquisition is described within the IPOX® framework as IPO M&A.
Following innovation through ownership changes
An acquisition can move the products, customers and intellectual property of a recently listed business into an established company. GNDX follows the acquiring companies, connecting the new listings universe with businesses that expand through these transactions.
The approach can span different industries because acquisitions of newly public companies occur across technology, healthcare, financial services, industrials and other sectors. The portfolio's composition follows the transactions and companies that meet the methodology's eligibility criteria.
Equal weighting and quarterly maintenance
The index uses equal weighting. At rebalancing, this gives constituents comparable starting weights; their relative influence can then change as market prices move.
Membership and weights are reviewed quarterly, updating the portfolio as qualifying acquisitions and other relevant changes affect the eligible universe.
Research and index applications
GNDX provides a reference for analyzing acquirers of U.S. new listings and is available for licensed investment products and benchmarking. The dated fact sheet provides portfolio statistics and performance.
The GINDEX® International Growth Infusion Index extends this approach to eligible non-U.S. acquisitions. Full construction and maintenance provisions are available through Rulebook & Regulations.
