INDEX OVERVIEW

About the index

The IPOX® U.S. Composite Index (IPXC) measures the broad universe of eligible U.S.-listed new listings using IPOX® index technology. It follows companies through their development in public markets and provides a selection universe for more focused IPOX® portfolios.

A broad view of new listing activity

IPXC brings together eligible companies entering public markets, including businesses formed through IPOs and spin-offs. Its coverage evolves with the flow of new companies to the market and with corporate actions affecting existing constituents.

The index provides context for understanding the size and composition of the U.S. new listings universe. Industry weights arise from the eligible companies and their market values, so the portfolio's composition develops alongside public-market activity.

Weighting and dynamic maintenance

The index uses total market capitalization weighting, giving larger eligible companies a greater influence on its performance. It is maintained dynamically as listings and corporate actions change the eligible universe.

The composite framework generally follows new listings for 1,000 trading days, approximately four years. The full methodology sets out eligibility, membership periods and special-case provisions, including the treatment of corporate actions.

A foundation for focused portfolios

The IPOX® 100 U.S. Index selects a more concentrated portfolio from this universe, applying its own constituent limits and quarterly review process.

For IPXC statistics and performance, consult the dated fact sheet. Rulebook & Regulations contains the complete construction and maintenance provisions.
