Reuters: IPOX® Associate Lukas Muehlbauer Comments on Londian Wason’s NYSE Debut
Reuters reports that Chinese copper foil maker Londian Wason New Energy Tech was valued at approximately $2.01 billion in its NYSE debut, making it the largest U.S. IPO by a Chinese company in more than a year. Shares opened at $26, above the $22 offer price, after the Shenzhen-based company raised $94.3 million in an upsized offering.
IPOX® Associate Lukas Muehlbauer provided perspective on the debut, cautioning against interpreting the stock’s initial performance as evidence of a broad reopening of the U.S. market for larger Chinese IPOs. He also noted that Londian Wason’s low float could create a future supply overhang if additional shares are issued, particularly if the company needs to raise more capital.
Muehlbauer added that investors will be watching the company’s ability to sustain growth while reducing its dependence on a concentrated customer base. Reuters noted that Londian Wason’s five largest customers accounted for approximately 64% of its total revenue in 2025.
“Offerings with very low floats like this one tend to be more volatile and can benefit from a scarcity premium, so I would not view the first-day performance alone as proof that the U.S. market has fully reopened for larger Chinese IPOs,” IPOX® Research Associate Lukas Muehlbauer said.
