First Trust Webinar: IPOX® CEO Josef Schuster Discusses SpaceX IPO, New Listings, and IPOX® Index Methodology
IPOX® CEO & Founder Josef Schuster
In a First Trust webinar on June 11, 2026, IPOX® CEO Dr. Josef Schuster joined a discussion on the SpaceX IPO, the broader new listings market, and the role of IPOX® indexes in tracking IPOs, spin-offs, de-SPACs, REITs, and select IPO M&A. The conversation focused on SpaceX’s expected scale, limited public float, investor demand, and the potential for additional large IPOs from companies such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Databricks, Revolut, Stripe, Kraken, and others.
Dr. Schuster provided analysis on SpaceX’s low expected float, the implications of secondary issuance, and the historical performance of low-float IPOs. He also discussed IPOX®’s fast-track methodology and explained why IPOX® treats new listings as a distinct market segment with unique risks and opportunities.
The webinar also highlighted the IPOX® 100 U.S. Index, including its 20-year live track record and its role as a benchmark for U.S. IPO and new listings performance. The IPOX® 100 U.S. Index is the underlying index for the First Trust US Equity Opportunity Index, ticker FPX.
Dr. Schuster emphasized that the IPOX® approach is built on data-driven research into IPO aftermarket performance. He discussed the “going public effect,” the importance of diversification across new listings, and the role of IPO M&A as a recurring driver within the IPOX® universe.
