FOCUS MONEY: IPOX® Associate Lukas Muehlbauer Comments on Oura’s Planned IPO and Digital Health Positioning

In their latest edition, German financial magazine FOCUS MONEY examined Finnish wearable technology company Oura as it prepares for a potential IPO following a period of strong growth.

IPOX® Associate Lukas Muehlbauer commented in the article on Oura’s positioning ahead of a possible listing and the broader market environment for specialized growth companies.

The article highlights Oura’s reported $11 billion valuation in its 2025 financing round, expectations for $2 billion in 2026 revenue, more than five million rings sold, and its subscription-based business model alongside sales of its smart rings. Muehlbauer notes that Oura would be approaching the public markets from a position of strong growth and can now present itself as an established health platform rather than simply a young wearable company.

Muehlbauer also highlights Oura’s differentiated focus compared with larger technology companies:

“Während Apple und Samsung Wearables als Teil eines breiteren Ökosystems anbieten, kann Oura seine gesamte Produktentwicklung auf den Ring und die dazugehörige Gesundheitsplattform konzentrieren.”

In English: “While Apple and Samsung offer wearables as part of a broader ecosystem, Oura can focus its entire product development on the ring and the accompanying health platform.”
